NEWS
Due to the ongoing global situation, we are unable to physically attend Asia Week New York again this Spring - a real disappointment as we have participated nearly every year since its inception. However, we are pleased to let you know we are participating in Asia Week's online exhibition, running from 11-20 March 2021. Further details for the event, which will also include lectures, videos, webinars and virtual tours of participant galleries can be found on the Asia Week New York website.
We will be featuring our exhibition in a section on our website entitled 'Asia Week New York Exhibition' for you to view - and of course if you visit the BADA website, you will find listings of some of our other current stock.
In other news, Nick has published an article on the development of the ‘Indian’ or ‘bended’ chair back, and how around 1717, the terminology ‘India’ began to be used on invoices and inventories in England. He explores how this explicit acknowledgement of Asia (if not China specifically) may have come about. This has been published by BADA in their features section, and you can read the whole article further here.
We would like to remind you that we are continuing to accept consignments if you are thinking about selling or upgrading your collection.
Please continue to keep an eye out for our Object of the Month feature, shown on the relevant page on our website, on our Instagram account @NickGrindleyArt and also via subscribed email.
Many thanks for your continued support.
Nick and Rebecca
