Pair of Pricket Candlesticks

A pair of baitong candlesticks, based on a Spanish Colonial form of the 17th century, with rectangular bases with canted corners and a turned knop column with a central drip pan and cylindrical nozzle with a spike inserted into the candle holder.
The foot of each candlestick with the incised same inscription, 道光三十年庚戍五月置洪溪清水祖师公, read as, purchased in the fifth month of the gengshu year, the thirtieth year of Daoguang's reign [1850], Hongxi [probably referring to the Hongxi Town, Jiashan County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province], Ancestor Qingshui.
